ASICON (Air and Sea Interaction Consultants) b.v.b.a. was founded in 1987 to draw up weather forecasts in the regional Met office located in the North-sea port of Zeebrugge. These weather forecasts were combined with tide and wave models to draw up accurate sea water level prognosis and interaction models. As from 1990 on, the company further specialised in the studies regarding coastal defense projects, sediment-transport along the coastline and sea current measurements. The company has realised the development of "tidal windows" calculations and predictions for the navigation in Zeebrugge and on the Bassac river in Vietnam. Since 1991 the company further developed it's activities as consultant, agent and reseller of specialised hydrographic equipment, namely high precision GPS receivers (including Glonass), Echosounders, Doppler current probes, turbidity sensors, side scan sonars, multibeam sounders, gyro and motion sensors, meteorological equipments etc. The company customers base consists both of public bodies (e.g. Ministries of Flemish and Walloon community) as private entreprises (e.g. major dredging contractors - J.
